In Life Drawing One I would say I have learned best about the planes on the human body. Transforming the organic shapes of the body and turning it into geometric planes helped me to draw better. It was easier for me to visualize and draw geometric shapes first and then build/work them into the organic shape. Another visualization concept I learn to enhance is seeing the muscle and the shapes it made on the body. This helped my drawings because I was aware of the muscle and knew their basic shapes and location of how they appear on the body. I would have to say the biggest improvement I have made would be drawing facial features. I really liked how Amy broke down the face and showed how each feature was constructed. I have better a concept of the nose and eyes now, which makes a huge difference in my drawings. Some things that I still need to improve on is line work and weight, I draw with really heavy lines and sometimes I sketch with “hairy” lines. I need to soften the lines and learn how to build them up; also I should draw continuous smooth lines instead of sketchy lines that look messy. Some things I would like to learn further would be to focus on the difference in anatomy of genders. For males learn more in detail about the muscle structure and for the females learn about the significant curves. There are several areas of the genders that are very subtle in change but if drawn correctly make the drawing stand out dramatically and significantly identify the gender.
