cross contour lines


I really enjoyed this exercise. Running lines across the body is a great way to study and draw the body and its complex shapes. I would say drawing this way comes easy to me because i'm huge on the details, and I can pick up on all the minor and subtle changes in shape. From doing this exercise i can see a huge improvement in understanding the body.

1st gesture drawings

I'm not a a big fan of 30 sec sketching, but it does get you to think fast and see the basic shapes of the body. As the exercise went on I was getting better at capturing the stance and motion. I also was understanding the proportions better.
